day 01
clear space • clear mind
[cleanse physical space & personal stuff]
but first—let’s GROUND & NOURISH
Before getting into today’s specific rituals and practices, lets ground into our morning and nourish mind, body, & spirit by following thE Daily Rise Ritual.
.
.
.
Now that we’ve laid the foundation for a successful flow into the day, return to a quiet space to follow along for Day 01’s guided breath-work meditation below.

let’s breathe together.
day 01 // box breathing meditation
Find a quiet place to be present for the next 5 minutes.
Sit or lay in a comfortable position.
use headphones or a speaker for a better sound experience.
Press play, close your eyes, and let’s begin.

journal exercise
Return to your quiet place and start a new page in your journal.
At the top of the page, title it: “NEW YEAR • CLEAN SLATE: RESET JOURNEY,” and underneath, write
"DAY 01 // CLEAR SPACE • CLEAR MIND"List three personal items [which you physically own] that you are grateful for and why.
i.e. "I am grateful for my bed because it allows me to rest comfortably every night"
Now think of three additional personal items that you are grateful for, and reflect if they are still serving you or worth remaining in your life this year onward.
List these in your journal, expressing gratitude for how they served you and then release them.
i.e. "I am grateful for these old letters from my past lover because they remind me of the beauty of romance, but it’s okay to release them now because I remember that my partner did not fully respect and honor me."
Then actually get rid of these items, whether in the trash, through donation, or secondhand sale if possible

time to declutter.
Today we’re going to start by deep cleaning our physical space & belongings. This process will be a bit lengthy depending on your general organization, but ultimately, it should feel quite therapeutic & rewarding by the end!
let’s break it down
PART ONE: LAUNDRY
PART TWO: LIVING SPACE
PART THREE: AUTO SPACE [IF APPLICABLE]
some food for thought
I suggest playing an upbeat music playlist on speakers or in headphones while you get into this work
It’s more than okay to take breaks and come back to decluttering at different times throughout the day
These tasks are not *intended* to require your whole day, but then again, if you’ve been neglecting your laundry for a while you might want to reconsider your plans for today…;)
part one // laundry
*Note: Make sure to hydrate & nourish your body with another meal before beginning the decluttering process!
Start with tending to your laundry
Sort & wash any clothes, towels, and bedsheets + pillowcases
especially if it’s been 2+ weeks since the last wash
In between loads, sort through any clean clothes already in your closet or dressers
Determine if there are any items you either don’t wear often, don’t feel excited about, or are simply old/worn out/stained/ripped/etc.
Wear these items one last time to truly get an “energetic feel” for your relationship to them before organizing each article into the following piles:
THROW AWAY
DONATION
DIY/TAILOR
FOR SALE
Repeat this same process for your freshly washed laundry, and handle each pile accordingly.
part two // living space
bathroom:
Organize any makeup, haircare, skincare products & toiletries
throw away any old or unneeded items
Deep clean the following:
toilet
tub/shower
sink and counters
Sweep and mop the bathroom floors
Wash or replace bath mats, shower curtains and body/hand towels
Empty trashcan
lived in rooms:
Remake your bed using freshly washed or new sheets
Reset or reorganize any bookshelves, dressers, night stands
Look into investing in any of these to help reduce clutter
Clear off your desk
Recycle any old papers or miscellaneous supplies that are no longer in use
Tend to any houseplants—water, fertilize, repot, or remove dead leaves if necessary
Use smudging herbs or incense [if you have it] or speak an intention out loud to cleanse your space from any energetic clutter stagnant energy lingering throughout your rooms.
Open a window or door to release the energy outside
Remember to send gratitude for your home :)
part three // auto space
IF YOU HAVE your own vehicle:
Clean out any trash on the floor and under the seats
Organize your trunk space
Wipe your mirrors, steering wheel and dashboard
Empty ash trays, side storage, and cup holders
Use a recycled grocery or takeout bag as a mini trash can to prevent
mess from accumulating in your carReward yourself with a car wash + vacuum, and a fresh tank of gas!
Smudge or burn incense in your car to cleanse the energy, kill bacteria, and freshen the smell
Note:
For many folks who drive, their cars can serve as a sacred, meditative space for alone time—it’s important to keep this space clean & tidy, especially if carpooling with others!
CONGRATS!
We’ve completed day 01’s practice
Let’s take 3 deep breaths together and drink a glass of water because we deserve it :) Thank you for honoring yourself through your own commitment and discipline!
JOURNAL reflection BONUS
This is a great time to reflect in your journal on how today’s routine + practice unfolded for you.
Did you incorporate something new into your day that you hadn’t before? What was your favorite part? What was challenging?
Recall the emotions you wanted to feel at the beginning of the day, how do you feel now?
